Happy Star Wars Day everyone! I hope this finds everyone celebrating all the awesomeness that is Star Wars! Today, I thought I’d share one of the many Star Wars themed pictures I have taken through the years. Seeing that we have a few of the Star Wars characters around in Tomorrowland at Disneyland this isn’t the hardest thing to find. Picking just one however, was much more difficult. I decided upon Darth Vader though. I remember being so scared of him as a child. I also remember the first time [Read More]

Darth Maul is scary. I remember the first time I saw Episode 1 of Star Wars thinking how he just looked like he was pure evil. Of course, when I was a kid Darth Vader seemed the same way. Then both Darth Maul and Darth Vader came to Disneyland as a part of the Jedi Training Academy and could be seen daily as they attempt to corrupt young padawans. Thankfully to date, they haven’t really been successful (although there is a youtube video out there that would seem to indicate [Read More]
I’m a regular at Disneyland. Rare is the Sunday where I don’t don my fedora and take a walk through the park. I’ve been doing this for years. I don’t know what it is about Sundays but they are special. Through the years, my routines have changed but one thing has remained the same. I come to the park on Sunday.
I love walking into the park, hearing the train, seeing the giant Mickey Mouse made of flowers, and then seeing Mickey himself greeting guests. Whatever cares or stresses I was [Read More]
On Sunday I enjoyed a very wet and cold day at Disneyland. As I was sitting at Coke Corner listening to Ragtime Robert I thought it’d be kind of fun to wander around a bit of the park and take some photos. Of course it was raining so I didn’t have my nice camera. I did have a little point and shoot camera in my pocket but for some reason I didn’t pull it out. I instead used my phone and took photos with it as I wandered. Then I [Read More]
It’s that time of year again. Anyone who has walked into Disneyland during the last couple of weeks has undoubtedly noticed the orange bunting and Jack o’ Lanterns that adorn Main Street, USA. Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg of what goes on at Disneyland during the Halloween season. Here are a few things that we at DAPs Magic think you won’t want to miss during this most haunted season at the Disneyland Resort.
Main Street, USA
As you enter Main Street, USA it is impossible not to notice a [Read More]
I am happy to report that Francis is entering the final stretch for the 55 Attractions in 55 hours challenge at the Disneyland Resort. His efforts with the Protozoa Pirates have kept him alive. As I write this, I’m uploading the second video of their escapades. From our count, Francis has about a day left to finish. He also has about a day’s worth of attractions. It really will come down to his choice in attractions and how busy of a day it is when we do go in to [Read More]
A lot was going on at the Disneyland Resort this weekend, most involved D23 and the Destination D event. One of the things that definitely got my attention was the unveiling of some details about Star Tours. For years it had been rumored that Star Tours was going to be updated and it seems like everyone had ideas for what they’d like to see on an updated Star Tours. Now after years of dreaming, speculating, and wondering, we are close to seeing what the people who have power came up [Read More]
You may or may not realize this but John Williams wasn’t the guy who came in and arranged the music for Star Tours. A guy named Richard Bellis was actually the guy who pulled together the music and arranged it for the original Star Tours. There is an amazing interview with Bellis over at the Endor Express if you want to read more about him and some of his history working musically in the Disney Theme Parks. Part of the interview focuses on his work on Star Tours and Indiana [Read More]
Over at the Disney Parks Blog they have posted a new video for the return of Star Tours. It is formatted as a travel advertisement for Star Tours. It actually is rather clever and well done. It reminds me much of the video that used to be played in the entrance queue for Star Tours before it was closed. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this video will be showed in place of the old one in the queue. This video was shown at Star Wars Celebration V. The Disney [Read More]
