The day so many of us had been waiting for finally came yesterday. The Hobbit began filming. Even more fun was that Peter Jackson documented the occasion and shared it with the fans! Yes, you read the headline right. Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom are reportedly going to be in The Hobbit. What they will be doing I’m not entirely sure as neither of their characters are in the book. However, seeing as the book is being split into two movies, maybe they will show up in the second movie to act as sort of a bridge between the two? I’m not entirely sure.

Howard Shore’s score for The Lord of the Rings was integral to the creation of Middle Earth and the story being told there. It’s all over the news, Peter Jackson could be returning to Middle Earth as the director. I, for one, really hope this is what ends up happening!
