Disneyland Paris City Hall

One of my favorite places at any Disney Magic Kingdom is Main Street. Disneyland, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, or Disneyland Paris; it doesn’t matter. I love Main Street. I love it even more when you can find a piano down at the end of it but even without it I love Main Street. This is more than likely because of growing up in a small town in the Midwest as a kid. Although I will admit, our “Main Street,” if you can call it that, never looked as perfect as any [Read More]

Happy Birthday Disneyland Paris!

20 years ago Disneyland Paris opened its gates. There have been lots of changes since then, including a name, but one thing has remained the same; this is a wonderful continuation of Walt Disney’s legacy that started at Disneyland. I have visited Disneyland Paris a couple of times and absolutely love it. I took this picture in 2008 during my first visit to Disneyland Paris. I love how much is happening in this photo. If you look closely you can see some favorite Disney friends. You might also notice that [Read More]

Sundays at Disneyland

I’m a regular at Disneyland. Rare is the Sunday where I don’t don my fedora and take a walk through the park. I’ve been doing this for years. I don’t know what it is about Sundays but they are special. Through the years, my routines have changed but one thing has remained the same. I come to the park on Sunday.
I love walking into the park, hearing the train, seeing the giant Mickey Mouse made of flowers, and then seeing Mickey himself greeting guests. Whatever cares or stresses I was [Read More]

Meeting Sailor Mickey and More!

Yesterday I had the chance to go check out the new Meet n’ Greet location at Disney California Adventure and meet Sailor Mickey. As a lover of the sea, this was definitely a treat. I have grown up loving boats, the sea, and sailing especially so I definitely wanted to make sure and see Sailor Mickey yesterday. First, however I went and saw the last day of Mardi Gras as a part of the Family Fun Weekends. The highlight of this visit was that Dale seemed to really like my [Read More]

Another Rainy Day at Disneyland

On Sunday I enjoyed a very wet and cold day at Disneyland. As I was sitting at Coke Corner listening to Ragtime Robert I thought it’d be kind of fun to wander around a bit of the park and take some photos. Of course it was raining so I didn’t have my nice camera. I did have a little point and shoot camera in my pocket but for some reason I didn’t pull it out. I instead used my phone and took photos with it as I wandered. Then I [Read More]

A Few Tips for Disneyland’s Candlelight

Anyone visiting Disneyland this week has probably noticed the stage being erected in front of Main Street Station in Town Square. This is for the annual presentation of Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional. This year, the processional will be taking place on December 4 and 5. Both nights there will be two shows. The first will be at 5:30 pm and the second at 8:oo pm. Actor Tom Skerrit will be the narrator this year.
What is the Candlelight Processional you ask? It is the telling of the original Christmas Story by the [Read More]

Shanghai Disneyland – A Different Magic Kingdom

With the announcement of Shanghai Disneyland it has set off the Disney fans imagination about what a new Disney theme park will look like under the leadership of Bob Iger. I wish I could tell you that I have an answer to that question, but I don’t.
Here is what I have heard from a couple of places. A couple of places means I have heard it from two places so I figure it is a full fledged rumor… so take it for what it is. SUPPOSEDLY, Main Street will look [Read More]

You MAY Get Wet

Before each and every Fantasmic!, the Disneyland voice (Bill Rogers) makes an announcement basically saying that if you are standing close to the Rivers of America you may get wet. On Sunday night, that statement was a little superfluous as the sky had already decided that everyone would be getting wet on Sunday night. A bit of a mist had been coming down all evening and by the first Fantasmic!, that mist had turned into a drizzle. That drizzle got a little bit stronger during the fireworks [Read More]

A Disneyland Day in the Rain

One of my favorite times to be at the Disneyland Resort is when it is raining. I think there is something absolutely magical about being in the park as the sky opens up and raindrops come down. Generally, this leads to a bit of an exodus as those who don’t love the rain quite as much as I do scramble for the Main Gate and their cars. As I think about a Disneyland day in the rain, a few things pop out at me as being favorites.
Main Street
I love walking [Read More]
