Time for Change

Things continue to change at the Disneyland Resort. Starting tomorrow there will be some very obvious changes to anyone who visits.
Let’s start with the cosmetics. Those big letters in front of Disney California Adventure (DCA), that people go and get their pictures with, will be going the way of the Dodo bird. Guests arriving at DCA tomorrow will quickly realize that things are different and the letters no longer available. With this will begin the changes to the main gate at DCA as well.  This will be bittersweet as the [Read More]

Surviving Disneyland When Busy

The week between Christmas and New Years is always a busy week at Disneyland. Busy perhaps is an understatement. Those who visit during this week often find themselves caught in a struggle to simply survive rather than having the wonderful and magical time that should be having!  Here are a few tips to keep your visit to the happiest place on earth, happy!
Be Prepared – Wear shoes that are comfortable. Plan on staying in the park for the duration of the day so either carry a backpack or rent a [Read More]

Busy Night for the DAPs Crew!

Last night was a busy night for the DAPs crew. It started with Johnny 5 and I filming our 12th episode of DAPs Magic’s Geeks Corner. This was quite the adventure as we do indeed film on a porch and with the rain and wind, we occasionally were getting wet. The sound of the rain also can be heard clearly in the video.
After a bit of a break we moved from video to audio. We connected with Francis and DC Sarah to record our second episode of DAPs Chat. This [Read More]

It’s a Small World Holiday

A Christmas classic at Disneyland has become It’s a Small World Holiday. Anyone walking towards the direction of Toon Town, Princess Fantasy Faire, or just the north end of Disneyland at night will see the glow of lights as they enter the area. It’s a Small World Holiday lights up the night with music and thousands of Christmas lights.
Recently I was honored to attend the Media Appreciation Day at Disneyland and took a ride round the waters of the world on It’s a Small World Holiday and took a shot [Read More]

Toy Soldier – A Christmas Fantasy Parade

I took this picture a few weeks ago from Christmas Tree Point on Main Street, USA at Disneyland. I love everything that is going on behind the wooden soldier in this picture. I think that is one of the great things about A Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland at Christmas time. There is just so much that is going on and generally there is a little bit of something for everyone. There are a ton of Characters from all over the place and they are nicely spread out.
My favorite part [Read More]

Friday Night Movies – Christmas Edition

As I think through the list of movies I could include for Friday Night Movies, I would be remiss if I didn’t pick one of the Christmas greats. It’s a Wonderful Life is at or near the top of great Christmas movies. I still remember the first time I saw this. It was in an 8th grade English class. We first read the short story and then got to watch the movie in class. I remember being absolutely blown away by this story and movie.
One of the things that makes [Read More]

A Few Thoughts on Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional

If you were at Disneyland this weekend, you were aware that something was going on in Town Square. I would think that by now, if you didn’t already, you know it was for the annual Candlelight Processional. This year, Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional was narrated by Tom Skerritt. If you are like me, you probably said “Tom who?”  After a quick look at IMDB I saw that he actually was in the original M.A.S.H. movie, Top Gun, and a few other things…some of them even Disney related. . . nothing recent [Read More]

Friday Night Movies – Christmas Edition

I must admit, it is almost overwhelming to try and narrow down to basically four Fridays my favorite Christmas movies. Because of this, I’m going to cheat a little bit and this week include several that aren’t movie length that add up to the length of one movie. I guess that isn’t really cheating. My family would probably watch all of these movies in one evening anyway. These are the classic Christmas shows that often can be found on network television sometime in the month of December.

Rudolph the Red Nosed [Read More]
