Merida is now at Disneyland. She is right across from It’s a Small World. I think one of the best parts about this isn’t what you’d expect though. I love that they have the Scottish themed music there! Generally the music in the area gets a bit overwhelming if you are there too long as you hear It’s a Small World over and over again. There was a bit of a line but nothing too insane. I have a feeling this will change once Brave is actually in theaters. I may have to go back and take some more photos in the near future and see. Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. This photo was taken at the Inglenook Vineyard that is owned by Francis Ford Coppola. It is a beautiful property and I highly recommend visiting there if you are ever in the area. It also has a ton of great history that is really quite fascinating! Coppola has done a wonderful job restoring the property to its original glory.

I go to Disneyland all the time. Every time I see something new. Or I see something old in a new light. This was the case on Sunday night as I walked out of Fantasyland through the gates of Sleeping Beauty Castle. I just happened to stop and look back and see this picture. I took it obviously. I have taken similar shots from further away but for some reason I love how being up close shows the details of the walls. Then looking through the gates you see all the magic and light that is to be found in Fantasyland at night. I just found this to be a unique show and I like it. I hope you do too!

One of the things I really enjoy at Disneyland is the parade. Mickey’s Soundsational Parade is an explosion of sound, color, and movement. Beyond that, it is just a lot of fun. It captures Disney Magic and puts it in a parade. On Sunday, I was at a unique angle where I was able to capture some of the magic of the parade and couple it with one of the icons of Disney magic, Sleeping Beauty Castle. I’m not entirely sure why but I really like how this picture turned out. What do you think?

20 years ago Mickey Mouse showed the power of his imagination really can overcome just about anything. I will admit, that moment when he shows up in his Sorcerer Mickey garb directing water and fire after overcoming evil. I love the cheer that comes from the crowd every night at that moment. In a world that can often be focused on the darkness, it is magical seeing thousands of people rallying around a little mouse who also happens to be the good guy. The world needs more positive heroes and I am glad that Mickey Mouse gets to be one of those every night his imagination overcomes the powers of darkness.

Last night I spent a bulk of the evening along the Rivers of America at Disneyland to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Fantasmic! at Disneyland. 20 years ago Fantasmic! premiered before members of the press and it only seemed fitting to return to this amazing show on this historic day. Since Mickey Mouse is pretty much my favorite character in the show, it also seems fittting for today’s Photo of the Day to be a picture of the big cheese himself! I hope you enjoy!

Happy Mother’s Day!

It seems only fitting that on this day I post a picture I took of a rose because I have given my mother roses for her rose garden many times. She was originally from Portland, Oregon so I guess the rose garden thing is in her blood. Because of this, I guess roses have always been connected with Mother’s Day in my book. Anyway, I hope you all have a very happy Mother’s Day and can take a moment to show your mother, or mother figure, appreciation. Thanks for all you do Mom!

On Thursday, I was honored to be invited to go to an event called Route 66 and Beyond Media Event at Disney California Adventure. This was basically a look at everything that is coming this summer to the Disneyland Resort. The highlight was obviously all the new changes in Disney California Adventure…specifically Buena Vista Street and Cars Land (which we got to tour!) The first part of our day was a thing called a “Cast Showcase.” This showcases all the new things that were coming up. Each room had a different focus. One of the rooms focused on Buena Vista Street. The presentation for this room was done in the fashion of an old radio show that we were watching live. I took this photo of the guy hosting the radio show. I love this era and the styles found then. I really enjoyed the event and I hope you enjoy this picture!

We had a wonderfully rainy day at Disneyland in March. I left my fancy camera at home and took my Canon Powershot to Disneyland and enjoyed the weather. In the evening, I got this picture of the Mad Tea Party with Storybook Land in the background. I wish I had my DSLR for that shot but am glad I didn’t get it all wet! Either way, it was a really fun night as the park was nearly empty! I always enjoy Disneyland in the rain!

Disneyland really is a magical place. Sometimes the simplest of things can be such a strong reminder of this. On Saturday while visiting the park I got to watch a young friend experience the magic first hand. I snapped this picture as she had a wonderful moment with Dale I believe. I’m not entirely sure. Either way, they were off in their own little magical world and loving every moment of it. These are the moments that really make Disneyland such a magical experience. These are the things that keep me coming back week after week, year after year. It was a wonderful day at Disneyland and I sincerely hope that each and every one of you get to experience or observe magic like this!
