The Rain Came Down

Driving back to California from St. Louis we were treated to a short, but powerful, thunderstorm as we headed west through New Mexico towards Arizona. The drive went from sunny with a few fluffy clouds and hot to storm, rainy and relatively cool within just a few minutes. The rain came down…hard. I will admit, I’ve seen worse. We could still see the front of the car but not a whole lot else. This picture was taken right AFTER the worst of the rain. I did take one during the worst but you really can’t see anything so it is pointless. Notice how much water is on the road. At this point, there really wasn’t as much lightning but just lots of water and wind. I would have LOVED to go out and play in it but… turns out that isn’t a good idea when driving down an interstate.
