Moving Forward and Standing Still

As we continued driving through Tucumcari, New Mexico on Route 66 we came across this building. For some reason it really stood out for me. As you can see, it now is a tattoo parlor. It looks like it was once a drive in or something. I’m sure this was a business that was built originally in the forties or fifties and didn’t survive. At some point, someone else thought they could build a new business there and it became this tattoo parlor. In my imagination, this was in the 80′s. It was probably a new and exciting adventure at the time but now… it has aged a bit. This new business is a blast from the past itself… who would have ever thought the 80′s would feel like it was such a long gone era already…
